Saint Paul’s United Church presents its Seventh Annual Celtic Christmas Celebration featuring music, dance, traditions and refreshments from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.  We are pleased to announce The Celtic Christmas 2009 Guest Performers which include:

GIN LANE CELTIC BAND

GIN LANE has existed in varying formats for the better part of the last 20 years. This band was formed by three musicians who learned and performed fife and drum at three different historic sites: Fort George, Fort Henry and Fort York.

Recording artists Gavin Watt, Ken Purvis and Peter Aaron Alexander add an air of excitement and frivolity to our program by singing and playing a variety of authentic Celtic instruments. Back by popular demand, we welcome Gin Lane again this year. www.GinLane.com

JENNIFER POTTER Vocalist

Welcome to JennSound music where you will find the original songs of soprano Jennifer Potter. Her light lyric voice moves effortlessly through a repertoire of both both Celtic and classical music and she has combined these influences in her original compositions.

Jennifer graduated with a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Vocal Performance and went on to play leading roles in musical productions in Canada and the United States, including “Les Miserables and “Anne of Green Gables”. More recently Jennifer has concentrated on solo performances, composition and arranging, working from her studio, JennSound, where she records her original music.   http://www.jennsound.com/home

The senior team dancers are the 2008 Eastern Canadian Champions. This past April, two of the senior dancers competed at the World Irish Dance Championships in Philadelphia. In July, five of the senior dancers competed at the North American Irish Dance Championships in Nashville.

Teachers at the school are Sheila Graham and Sean McKeag, both former Champion Dancers with the world-renowned Butler Academy of Irish Dancing. www.grahamirishdancers.com.
